Short PostOur workout tonight was pretty upper body focused so my arms are a wee bit tired. :P Class on Tuesday was good. Illustrator will be fun I think. I finished my work early and ended up staying at Shane's because it makes my commute about 20 minutes less. Wednesday evening my Xerox guy, Gary, was in town, and took myself and a few reps out for dinner. I came home and ended up playing the Sims for a few hours to unwind. Work is always hectic when Gary's in town - we spend the whole day running around - so I needed the gym to blow off some steam. We could do the following in any order as long as we finished it. 100 pull ups 75 push ups 50 squats 25 dips My time was 22 minutes and some change. :D Brit and I did 45 sit ups too because we find our abs don't get the same work out as everything else. I'm making some food now and then taking it easy. So glad it's almost Friday. Labels: Daily Life, Health

I'm Waiting on the ManBy man, I mean, manager. :P I found out on Friday afternoon that my Xerox reps were able to dig up the funds for me to go on the Bahamas cruise that they gave away for their yearly trip! The information was sent off to my manager, and I just need his approval to go ahead and register. I can't see why it wouldn't be okay as I was able to go last year, so I'm pretty excited. :) Friday, I ended up bailing on the gym (I know, shame on me :P) and went to Peel Pub with Shane and Phil. We had a few pitchers of cheap beer and tasty cheap pasta before parting ways around 10:30. Saturday was a pretty chill day. Shane worked on some of his homework while I did my reading. We headed over to Scott's for a board game night. Vanessa was there, of course, as well as Sam, Janna and Phil. We played 'Betrayal at House on the Hill." I totally got everyone hooked on it. :P Sunday I was up bright and early to head out to rehearsal. I'm helping out with a production called "Mental Floss." It's going to be an interesting show - I wish I would have been able to audition for it, but unfortunately it goes up the same weekend as my sister's wedding. Oh well, hopefully I'll get in on the next one. :) Today was a bit of a long day. We had a table top schedule to promote a new deal, so I was running back and forth from my desk to the 2nd floor. Ugh. Seriously, the 1st of the month is the absolutely worst day for a table top. I have so much to do. :S I headed down to the gym, which definitely helped relieve some tension. It was a short but tough workout. I finished in about 12 and a half minutes. It was 6 rounds of 3 pistols, 6 pull ups and 9 sit ups with a weight on the chest. Afterwards, I did 100 singles and 20 push ups to round out my work out. In all I feel really good, but my legs are going to hurt tomorrow thanks to the pistols. Scott gave me a lift home, and planning on catching up on my Supernatural (oh I love those Wincester boys :P) and possibly playing the Sims. Labels: Daily Life, Health, Theatre

Monday Monday Monday!Today was kind of a long day at the office, but it was broken up by sushi with the boys. I went down to the gym (alone because the guys all wussied out again :P) and it was kind of intense. The first work out was 5 rounds of 15 push presses, 20 pull ups and 30 box jumps. The second work out was 1 km of rowing as fast as you can. There was a 10 minute time limit, so as soon as you finished rowing, you had to do as many double unders as possible in the remaining time. I'm awful at double unders but I did manage to get 53. My body is achy already. :P It took me almost 30 minutes to walk up to the metro. I was feeling a little queasy afterwards, so the slow walk was good. Thank goodness it's not cold out tonight. :P Tomorrow will be a very long day. I have my first class at 6:30. It's a long commute, so I'll be working through my lunch and leaving at 4:30 so I can get there on time. Class finished at 10:30 and with luck, I'll be able to catch the 10:45 bus. I won't get home until a little after midnight. I'm hoping I don't have a ton of books to buy, or that Vanessa will be able to load me her books. :P Labels: Daily Life, Health

UghI woke up yesterday feeling awful. I got really sick, and then took a Gravol before passing out until 2:30 in the afternoon. I didn't do anything all day. Shane brought me homemade chicken soup around 7:30 and I was able to keep it down. We watched a movie curled up on the couch - he rubbed my back which was awesome - and I went to bed around 10:30 or so. I woke up with a brutal headache and ended up staying in bed until 11. I've been taking it easy today. My head is still feeling puffy, for lack of a better word, but I'm hoping I'll be feeling better for Le Salon de L'Amour de Seduction this weekend. Sending LoveTo Sarah and Matt who lost someone so very dear today. My thoughts are with you - I wish I wasn't so darn far away. I wish there was something I could do to help at this time. :( Today was a very long day. It seems like this week has been dragging on forever. Last night I went to Vanessa's and we went to dinner at St. Hubert. She's so cute - she was so excited about the dipping sauce and her chicken fingers. :) We then headed out to John Abbott. Vanessa took the same program there that I'll be taking so she showed me around the campus. It's a bit of a commute, but I'm hoping that the time will help me get into the right frame of mind for class after a long work day. I woke up late today - 8:14. I'm supposed to be at work at 8:30. Ugh. I hate starting a day like that - it throws you off for the rest of the day. Wednesdays are my conference call days. Training call from noon to 1. Logitech call from 1:30 to 2:30, another training call from 3 to 4 and now, an extra call that started today at 4 and ended at 6. I wasn't feeling up to the gym - especially since all the guys were sissies and didn't go :P - but I made myself go anyway. It was burpees. Burpee suck. A burpee is a push up that you hop to your feet and do a jumping jack immediately after. Tonight our workout was 20 burpee muscle ups (you do a muscle up after every burpee), 20 burpee pull ups, 20 burpee handstands, 20 burpee box jumps and 20 f-ing burpees (a burpee where you do your push up with your hands on weights, lifting the weights, doing a squat and pressing the weights above your head). I can't do handstands or muscle ups yet, so I walked my legs up the wall for the handstands and Dom wouldn't let me do weights since they only had heavy ones left for the f-ings. I finished at just under 16 minutes. Ugh. Labels: Daily Life, Health

Power Work OutI was not feeling the gym last night, so when I got there, I resolved to power through the thing as fast as I could. My time was about 11 minutes, 30 seconds, give or take. I was the first one in my group done - the second fastest for the evening. :D The warm up was: 25 shoulder 'dislocations' 25 sit ups 100 single skips The workout was 3 rounds of the following for speed: 10 pull ups 25 kettle bell swings 25 double unders (or 125 singles) 10 handstand push ups or box push ups I thought I was going to die after. :P Afterwards, Scott gave Shane and I a lift to my place and I made very tasty green curry. I am *so* looking forward to Suwanna next month. :D Labels: Daily Life, Health

Holy CrapTonight's workout is what's known as the Filthy 50. That's when Dom decides to be a sadist and gives us 50 of a bunch of stuff to do, in order, as fast as we can. So 50 of each: Box Jumps Jump Pull Ups Lunges Kettle Bell Swings Knee to Elbows Push Presses Back Extensions Wall Balls Burpees Double Unders (or 250 singles) I'm SO beat. It took me 34 minutes to complete the workout, and I'm already feeling it, even after stretching. I'm thinking a long hot shower is order. :P Labels: Health

Stiff AlreadyToday was a hectic day at work. It felt like I couldn't get on top of anything! However, I did manage to convince Shane, Phil and Scott that it was a good day for sushi. Mmm... :d Then it was down to the gym. Gotta love a work out that leaves you stiff, sore and bruised. :P We had to do four sets of the following: 10 / 10 Kettle Bell Snatches 10 Pull Ups 10 Box / Tire Jumps (I did step ups because my ankle has been really sore since Monday's workout) 5 hand stand push ups (or as most of the folks did, you put your legs up on a box and do the push ups) 25 squats 10 knee to elbow The kettle bells kept hitting my forearms when I finished the lift. The bruises and bump on my left arm is far worse than the one on my right. I'll be glad when my arms are equal strength. :P I stopped for a few groceries on my way home, had supper and then chilled out with some 30 Rock. Oh, I also was able to get a sick deal on my flight home in February. $75 to and $100 back! :) Labels: Daily Life, Health

OyYesterday was a pretty chill day. I was up bright and early and threw together all the ingredients for beef stew into the slow cooker. I read for a bit and then napped before getting up and getting ready to see 'Avatar.' I left early because the theatre has been a zoo lately. It was good that I did because the theatre was indeed busy and a line up was already started to get into the theatre. I really liked it. People have been giving the story a lot of flack, but I think they're crazy. Scott described it as a futuristic 'Dances With Wolves' and I have to agree. Also, the whole concept of the avatars is quite interesting and original. Shane came home with me and we enjoyed some tasty tasty stew. We watched a couple episodes of 30 Rock before Shane headed home. I watched a few more episodes before turning it to read for a bit. I didn't sleep well last night thanks to the return of my nightmares. I think it's stress related.. Work was busy today, and by the end of the day, I was beat. However, I was determined to go to the gym. So I met Shane and we made our way down. It was a good workout. We did deadlifts to start - I did 46 of 75 lbs. We then had to do skipping. We had the choice of 50 double unders or 2000 singles. I suck at the DUs so I did the singles. It took about 40 / 45 to get through all 2000. It was rough! I then came home to enjoy some tasty left over stew. I'm hoping the workout will help me sleep. Labels: Daily Life, Health

Quebec City, Here I Come!Shane and I are going to Quebec City this weekend. It's not far, and we're meeting up with Dana and Izy, but it's our first trip together. I hope this cold/flu/arm thing goes away, or I'm at least feeling up to going out and doing stuff. I've been feeling pretty miserable the last couple of days, and now I'm getting stuffy. Sigh. Sorry - I'm a Slacker! It's harder to find time to blog now that I can't access it at work! I can tell you about this past weekend, but there's been so much going on, the days kind of bleed together! Lets see, Monday I went home early from work with a migraine. Tuesday I stayed home from work with the same migraine, and Wednesday left early again and visited a doctor to get stronger painkillers. Thursday I woke up feeling like a new woman and went to work all chipper. I spent Thursday evening hanging out with Andrea and her housemates at Marika's going away 'pantsless' party. :P I left before the streaking. lol Friday after work I went to rehearsal for "The Color of Me," at Inter Arts. It went very well, and by 10 pm, we had what blocking we needed down etc. I met up with Shana, Marika and Andrea on St. Laurent and we ended up going to this bar just north of Fairmont and riding a mechanical bull. Yes, that's right, a mechanical bull. It was freakin' awesome! Afterwards, we got some beer from the dep and ended up sitting on Andrea's rooftop terrace and chatting. I headed home around 1 or so, whenever Shana left to go to the old man bar on Papineau since it was in the same general direction. Saturday was a bit of a lazy day. I didn't do much during the day. I chatted with an adorably drunken Shane mid-afternoon (I love drunk dials :P) and hung out in the park a bit. I got home around 4:30, showered, ate and headed out to prep for the staged reading at 8 pm. We started at 6 pm with our warm ups and a run through. In all, it went very well. It's a lovely and thought provoking play. After, Alex and Emily, Sean, Kurt, Andrea and I went to Dieu de Ciel, a micro brewery on Laurier at Clark for a couple of brews. I had 2 of the 9% Imperial Pale Ale. Alex and Emily went home after that, but the rest of us made our way down St. Laurent, getting $2 phad thai from a noodle place and walking Kurt to the metro. Once we said our good byes to Kurt, we hit L'Absinthe where I tried, you guessed it, absinthe. It tastes rather like black licorice, which I'm not a huge fan of, but you really only need one - it packs a wallop! Yesterday I was very lazy. I slept in, slathered on the sun block and went to Parc la Fontaine. I laid in the sun, reading, dozing and listening to tunes until 5 pm. I met Sean by his place and we went to this delightful restaurant for couscous and lamb. After dinner, I went home, showered again as I was all greasy and sticky from sun block, gathered up my laundry and hit the laundry place around the corner. It was a pretty relaxing day - there won't be many more where I can just sit in the park all day. Seriously, where has the summer gone? Today was a good day at work. I got a good sized order and got all of my metrics. After work, I called Sarah and we talked as I stopped at Indigo to get a book (the next Laurel K. Hamilton book in the series I'm reading), stopped at Provigo (for groceries) and came home. It was nice to catch up with her. I think tomorrow I will try to get either Em or Dre on the phone. :-) Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Stuff, Theatre

Long WeekendIt figures, we get a long weekend and the extra day off is rainy. I don't care though - I'm going to wander around town anyway! :P Saturday night I met up with Jan and Dave at the Fringe stage for 'Wintersleep.' They've gotten better since the last time I saw them - they had a nice tight set. We wandered around St. Laurent for a bit (got some tasty and crazy cheap Phad Thai from a street vendor). I ended up going to Club Date for karaoke. It was packed and I only got to sing two songs before it was time to head home. Sunday started out kind of miserable. I wasn't in the mood to run, but I did anyway, and it was brutally difficult! Niko and I watched a few episodes of a show called "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' which is wonderfully funny and irreverent. We went to Mont Royal later in the day once the weather cleared up for a bit and met up with Izy, Sean, Alex, Tanya, Frank and Hania. I had to leave a bit early though as I was meeting Greg at 7-ish to watch 'Bladerunner.' Which he did not have a copy of. :P Luckily, I'd brought along 'DOA'. :) Today I did some laundry, and now I'm off to run a few errands, including finding a comic shop. Later I'm meeting Helene for some Greek food, and then we're going to watch some Firefly. Woot! Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Movies, Music

Feeling Tuesday-ish on a WednesdayI've got the blahs. Plus, my hips are a little stiff from my run last night. Sigh. :P Let's see, Monday after work I went for my first run in a while. It was kind of rough starting, but it was a short one, and I made it through without too much of a struggle. Afterwards, I went (on jelly legs) down to the Provigo to get a grocery order. It seemed to be the only Provigo that doesn't deliver. :P I got home around 8:30/9, made chicken curry for supper and did dishes in preparation for the new roomie. Yesterday was kind of a long day at the office. Most of the day was spent with vendor/production training - some of which was interesting and some that was really not. I got home to discover Niko was mostly moved in. We chatted a bit, and I went for a run. It was an easier run than Monday, but still a bit tough. I powered through it though. I got home around 7:30, Adriano dropped by to pick up mail about 7:45, I ate some leftovers and called Brett back (who'd I'd met Friday night) and we met for a drink. I chatted with Dre on the walk home, helped Niko make his new bed and we hung out until I went to bed about 12:30. It's definitely going to take some time to get used to having to share my space again, but I think it will good. Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health

What If I Was Crazy?I didn't end up working yesterday. I was feeling sick to my stomach (when combined with a decided lack of desire to work) so I opted to stay in bed. I slept off and on all day, so obviously there was something going on as I'm not one to nap. I was feeling a bit better by supper time, so I had some soup. The power went off a little after 6, and I spent the next ten minutes trying to find my lighter so I could use the bathroom. :P I got my stuff together and headed down to John and Sabine's for Turtles. Unfortunately Keith overslept so we didn't have enough people to play. The power came back on close to 8 pm, and Sabine and I ended up watching the first episode of 'Firefly.' She didn't hate it, but it's still too sci-fi for her tastes. I'm glad she was willing to watch with an open mind though. :) I got home a little after 10 (after stopping for ice cream). I finished watching the ep of Veronica Mars I'd been watching before the power so rudely went out, as well as one more, and then went to bed. I got an email from my future roommate's uncle. He's going to send me the first 3 months rent, which is good. He also seems to be thinking of sending me an additional $9000 because Elisa doesn't have a bank account, and doesn't know how else to ensure she gets her tuition and book money, etc. I suppose I could wire it to her, but that seems like a lot of money to send to a stranger. I'm starting to wonder if he's in Russia too - I just assumed he was in Montreal. Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Stuff, TV

Seriously Cold, Time to GoBeing sick really sucks. I'm stuffy, congested, my head hurts and last night I was feeling a bit queasy. I got home, had my slighly overcooked chicken (and rice) for supper, and crashed for a couple of hours. I watched "It's All About Love" with Claire Danes and Joaquin Phoenix, which is a really strange movie. I actually didn't really get it. I'm sure there is some deep hidden meaning, but it was a little too well hidden. I then spent some time cleaning my apartment. Not what I wanted to be doing considering I was feeling absolutely miserable, but Hazen is showing my apartment today (yes, already!) and I wanted it to look nice. Luckily I didn't have too much to do. It was mostly just a matter of sweeping, running the swiffer over the floor, and straightening up my bedroom. I still ended up being up later than I wanted, and didn't really sleep great. I think tonight I'll be skipping out on beer o'clock and just taking it easy. Maybe rent a movie or two from Quality, and chill. Melissa said she may come over, depending on how work goes - she's been swamped and I haven't seen her all week. Actually, that's kind of true for most everyone. Everyone seems to be busy with work or Mockingbird. :) I'm also hoping to hear from Al tonight. At any rate, if anyone feels like watching movies with me, let me know. If you don't mind the sniffling and coughing that is. Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Movies

Happy May Day!I can't believe it's May already! Seriously, where has the time gone?! :) Yesterday was a pretty good day. I emailed my manager my resignation letter to proof, just to make sure I got everything, and she got all teary! She also offered to take the few of us on this pilot out to lunch tomorrow as well. I'm really going to miss the people I work with... After work, I walked down to the Superstore to get groceries. I was pretty much out of everything. Luckily it wasn't too busy and I was able to get done in about 35 minutes. When I got home, I called to check on Dre (who was starting to feel better) and we chatted while I put my groceries away. I then did the pile o' dishes in my sink - seriously, I *hate* doing the dishes - before Brian came over to watch "Batman Begins" with me. He hadn't seen it, and I'd told him it was a must see, especially with "Dark Knight" rapidly approaching. It was nice to have the company, and he didn't mind that I was in my bummy clothes since I wasn't feeling well. :) He left about 10:30, and I self-medicated and crashed. I didn't sleep great - I kept waking up with coughing fits and an epic runny nose. I'm feeling pretty miserable today - I wish I could have just stayed in bed. I may try to sneak out a bit early. I am trying out my slow cooker finally. Izy went on and on about hers, so I thought, what the heck! :) I'm cooking chicken in a balsamic vinegar and fig sauce. The sauce smelled great, so I'm optimistic. Labels: Daily Life, Food, Friends, Health, Movies

Boo-Urns Cold!So that tickle in my chest (that I've had forever) has again developed into a full blown cough over the course of last night, and now I'll all stuffy and headachy as well. :( Boo-frigging-urns. I'm all self-medicated, which is helping a bit, but sheesh, enough is enough all ready. Suzy picked me up last night and we checked out the early show of "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" with Ann. It was really cute. Jason Segel is just charming, and there are some great laughs in it. I particularly got a kick out of the guy who plays Sarah's new boyfriend. I talked to Penny last night. The apartment is definitely mine - they're mailing down the lease for me to sign. :) She may stay for June 1st depending on 1. if she can find a place or not and 2. if I find a roommate. She's rather not stay if she doesn't have to - they actually broke up and that is why they are moving :( I also talked to Al last night, and he seems pretty keen on the idea of moving. He's going to talk to his instructor who has contacts in Montreal to see if he can get hooked up with some possible studios who may be hiring. He's going to let me know Friday or Saturday if he's in for July 1st. I can manage rent for one month on my own if I have to. I also rec'd a note from a guy named Scott from Vancouver who is planning to move to Montreal June 1st as well. He's not bringing any furniture as he's coming from Victoria, BC, so furnished is ideal (he'd have to buy a bed and dresser of course). He gave me his number so we'll chat. I'd rather move in with someone I know, of course, but beggars can't be choosers. :P Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Movies, Stuff

Friday's TuesdayThe problem with a two day work week is that Friday becomes one's Tuesday, and we all know how I feel about Tuesdays. Last night I headed down to Scott and Mare's for a 'Serenity' session. It was great! I got to threaten and intimidate people, get into a bar fight/shoot out, and show a bit of Mel's deeply hidden soft side. We finished up a little after 11. I read for a bit (I'm really enjoying 'American Gods,' as a pagan, I'm finding some of the concepts fascinating) and then went to bed. Today I had a bit of a hard time getting out of bed. That tickle in my chest that has been there since February and I thought culminated in that terrible sickness last month seems to be making a comeback and I'm not feeling great. I have a feeling I'll be taking it kind of easy this weekend. Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Gaming, Health

Pfftt! Who Needs Sleep? So yesterday afternoon I bit into something hard. Afterwards, one of my teeth on the upper right side of my mouth was feeling funny, like I had something stuck between it and the one next to it. I tried flossing whatever it was out, but it still felt weird. I was walking home, about 15 minutes or so into the walk, when I ran my tongue over the tooth and a small piece came off. The weird feeling was apparently caused by the fact that I'd broken it. >_< I popped into the Zellers to find a mirror and survey the damage. It's not a big piece, luckily, and far enough back that it's not very noticeable. I immediately called my dentist and was able to get an appointment for the 29th and got a promise that if anyone cancels between now and the end of the day next Tuesday, she'll call. As I said, its not very noticeable, I'm just extremely aware of it. I've got coverage, thankfully, but it only covers 80%. I'm not sure how much a repair costs, but I'm probably looking at the very least $100 out of my pocket - an expense I can't really afford. :( I got home about 6:30, enough time to make a quick bite to eat and change before heading to Tim's to meet Anthony for coffee. We hung out until about 8:30, and it was good. I think we may actually be friends, which I'm happy about. He was my best friend for a very long time, and I'm glad that he's still going to be in my life in some way. I headed home, and Em came over. We chatted until about 9:25, at which point we turned on "Pride & Prejudice," the new one, and my buzzer rang. It was Sarah. I really enjoyed it! It was extremely well cast all around. The guy who was cast as Mr. Collins was just delightful! Every time I saw him, I grinned. Em hit the wall around 11 pm, and headed home. Sarah and I ended up getting caught up in conversation, and didn't turn the movie back on until midnight, so it was a late night for both of us. I couldn't sleep, and ended up awake until about 2 am, and was up again at 4:30, wide awake. *sigh* Some day I'll sleep through the night. Maybe. I hope. I was able to get back to sleep around 5:30 at least, and slept until about 8. Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Movies

Solved! The sunglasses are Skot's. Whew! I don't remember him wearing them the last time he was over, but Kaylee must have knocked them off of whatever he set them on. I'm glad that I didn't have an inept burglar. :) I didn't quite make it through the day yesterday. I went to the doctor in the morning, and ended up going home on the 3:25 bus. I picked up a prescription, grabbed a wrap from the Market for my supper, went home and went to bed for a few hours. It was a pretty quiet evening. I dropped into Dre's to do some D&D 'house keeping' and then went home, chatted with Sarah a bit, and then went to bed. I woke up in the middle of the night, as usual, and this time I'm glad I did. There was a power outage or surge or something at some point around 4 am and my alarm clock was flashing. This morning, I set up mobile alerts on FB. I'm sure I'll regret being able to get my wall posts and messages on my phone, but hey, if it gets too crazy, I'll just turn it off. :) Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Gaming, Health, Stuff

Je me sens mieuxNot great, but better. That little tickle and sore throat ended up being that terrible infection that's been going around. I've spent the last 5 days, for the most part, in bed. I'm feeling about 65% now, which, you know, still isn't wonderful, but I can breathe without pain. Congrats!I'd also like to congratulate Suzy on getting into the Actor's Studio and John for getting into Humber College! How exciting! It's nice to have another excuse to visit NYC and TO. :) Not, you know, any time soon since I'll probably be very poor for a while, but you'll both be in your respective programs for a few years at least. :) Yay! Happy Friday!I'm so glad it's Friday! I was ready for it to be Friday on Tuesday. :P After work, I stopped in the drug store to get some Advil Cold & Sinus (only to realize this morning, that I actually need a decongestant. *sigh*) and then got Phad Thai for supper. I got it spicy and it was awesome! I cracked open some red wine, turned up the tunes, and got ready to go out. I did end up in the red dress because it was Valentine's day and it's the last opportunity to wear it this year - it's too festive for regular wear. I headed to Em's around 8, stopping to chat with one of our neighbours (Colin - he's a cutie) for a few minutes on the way. Kizzy arrived about quarter to nine, and we hung out there until about 9:20 or so. We piled into Kizzy's car, stopped in at Churchills to pick up a tipsy Sarah, and headed to Elwoods. When we arrived, there were only a handful of people there. By the time the show got started, there were a good number of folks there. It was a fun show. Jason's a great singer, and Adam is just plain fun to watch. Sarah and I stayed to the end, I picked up copies of the Penny Blacks cd for Alex and myself, and then headed home (thanks for the lift Sarah - it was cold!). I was wired when I got home, so I uploaded the cd to my iTunes, and the photos from my camera and posted them to Facebook. It was about 2 am by the time I got to bed. Hit me from the back side. I am on the white side. You are on the black side.We were sent home early due to the crazy weather yesterday, which included some crazy flooding in areas not prone to flooding (like in front of my apartment - I live on a hill!). Jay cancelled rehearsal because the roads were so bad, and there was literally 2 inches of water on the street at any given time. I'd had plans to meet Suzy after rehearsal, so I called her, and she invited me to come down for supper. I bundled up and splashed my way down Duke. We had a tasty supper (thanks again friends!), caught up as it had been weeks since we last hung out, and watched "Superbad." Why don't I have a copy of that movie yet? Despite the rain, the walk home was kind of nice. It was warm, and I totally wanted to go puddle jumping. If it hadn't been so late, I think I would have. ^_^ Instead, I spent some time chatting with friends on and offline, downloaded some new tunes (seriously, I think I need a new Nano - 2 gigs is not cutting it anymore!), and went to bed early because I was feeling cold-like symptoms. Today I'm definitely stuffy, and I'm a bit congested. I'm hoping to skip out early to get to the drugstore to get some medication, and maybe take a nap before meeting the girls before Elwoods. I'm hoping this cold will run its course so that I'm not sick when I'm out of town next week. Thanks cold gods, your timing is impeccable. :P Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Movies, Music

Ted-ingThere is a great episode of "How I Met Your Mother" in season one called "The Pineapple Incident." The whole thing starts with the gang making fun of Ted for over-thinking every situation. Ted gets drunk and stops thinking and embarks on a series of adventures. I've been thinking about a certain situation to constantly. And talking it to death. (Thank you to my very understanding friends for humoring me :P). I *know* I'm over analyzing, but I can't seem to stop! I've been telling myself to just park it - it's not really the kind of thing that requires a lot of over thinking. I know that its going to work out - life has a way of doing that - but my brain, like Ted's, isn't willing to just let life do its thing. So I'll keep thinking about and I'll probably keep talking about it. Just bear with me - I'm hoping it will resolve itself soon. Tuesday's GirlYesteday Jay came over to get me and we had lunch at the Market. We had been in the habit of having lunch at least once a week, and haven't been able to in a while between our various schedules. It was nice to hang out and catch up (thanks Jay!). After work, I reheated some leftovers, and then headed down to the Jay's for rehearsal. We're doing text analysis this week. It was good to start delving into the text - Carol is very different from me and I'm already relating to her a bit more than I did before. After rehearsal, Em came over (cause what's a Tuesday without Em? ^_^) and we chatted for a good hour before watching a couple episodes of HIMYM. And why is texting so addictive? I mean really? I like feeling connected to people, and the people I text the most tend to be just as bad as me - it's almost like IM-ing. But someone made a teasing comment yesterday and I realized that I may be texting some folks too much. So, if I'm sending you too many, please just let me know, and I'll try to cut back. Oh, and I'm definitely getting a cold. I keep sneezing and my nose is runny. *sigh* The timing is impeccable, really. I'm going to have to take it easy for the next week so I can get it through my system before I go away. Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Theatre, TV

Dirt and DramaIt has been a really long week, and I'm glad it's almost over. I don't really have time to be posting, but I need a break! Actually, I think I need a break in general. My upcoming trip is proving to be very timely (13 more sleeps! ^_^). Tuesday night was my regular date with Em - we watched "Eastern Promises." It was really good, and man, you've got to give props to Viggo for the completely nude fight scene. It takes guts to have your junk flopping around on screen! I woke up Wednesday feeling very flu-ish. I was pretty miserable actually, and spent the day alternating between the couch and my bed. It was a long and horrible day and surprisingly stressful. I was back to work yesterday, even though I wasn't feeling my best. I was greeted with a stack of work, literally, and spent the day with my nose to the grindstone. I barely dented the pile. The Serenity game last night was a welcome distraction - killing things always makes me feel less stressed. :P I got to do an old fashioned fast draw gun fight, and we did a couple of neat flashbacks. I got home around 11, chatted with a few folks via text messages and Facebook, and went to bed. Sarah has been my Friday night date these past couple of weeks, but she has a work function. I'm hoping someone is up for a drink after work with the possibility of checking out the Blue Olive later? Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Gaming, Health, Movies

I'm Right There With YouRock Band with Al on Friday night was a blast. I got there a bit after 8, and left around 2 am. ^_^ I even managed to play a couple of songs on medium on the drums. Woot! I so want that game - if only I had room in my apartment for the drums. :-P Saturday I slept in a bit, started doing some reading. Around 1-ish I was feeling cooped up and ended up going for a run since it was so nice out. It turns out I was a little overly ambitious - I ran 5k in about 38 minutes. I was running slow because I didn't want to over do it, not thinking that after not running for about 6 or 8 weeks that 5k in itself was probably over doing it. :-P It was a great run though, and I felt awesome afterwards. I showered etc. and then went back to my reading. Around 5 I had supper and then spent some time straightening up etc. for company. I had a great time with the girls Saturday night. Studio 54 had some prime people watching and I was able to get my boogie on. ^_^ Yesterday I didn't sleep as much as I would have liked, but I was feeling pretty stiff and my hips were sore from my run. I puttered around the apartment, did some homework for a few hours. Around 3, I went for a walk to loosen up and enjoy the nice weather. I spent about 45-50 minutes out and about. I took my camera, cranked the iPod and just walked about. I love walking when I don't have somewhere specific to go and the streets are quiet. Dre picked me up about quarter to 5 and we headed out to Jay and Lisa's for D&D. It was the finale for the section of the campaign we were on. It had two pretty big battles, and one big surprise at the end. I'm looking forward to our next game - things are going to be different! When I got home, I watched episode 11, The Platinum Rule, of How I Met Your Mother, season 3 online (it's brilliant!) before heading to bed. Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Gaming, Health, TV

OkayYesterday was kind of an okay day. Work was busy, and I only had a couple of really hard moments where I had to get away from my desk. I went to the gym with Dre after work, and we did a good upper body workout. As it was our first workout in a while, we took it easy, but it felt good to go. Afterwards, we headed to the Superstore for some groceries. By the time we did that, it was 8:30. We ate some sushi in the parking lot and then headed to the mall to do some dress shopping. It turns out McAllister is only open until 9 pm. I was sure it was 9:30. I tried on a few dresses in RW & Co. One was referred to as the 'devil dress' by the sales guy. Apparently it only looks good on the mannequin - it certainly did nothing for me. There was one red dress that looked good, but it was cute, not sassy. I want a dress that will look hot! ^_^ By the time Dre dropped me off and I got the groceries away, it was 10. I surfed about on Facebook for a while, then watched an episode of Rome. I've been watching it through for a second time with the special feature "All Roads Lead to Rome" on. It pops up information throughout the course of each episode about the era - its fascinating! As someone who practices a multi-deity faith, I'm particularly enjoying the info regarding the role religion played in the lives of the Roman people. I ended up being up until about 12:30 though. Even though I'm only getting between 4 and 6 hours of sleep, when I usually need 8, I been having a hard time falling asleep, and when I do sleep, it is fitful. I've been having nightmares again - I guess its because I'm feeling less safe than before - so I'm waking often, and its hard to fall back to sleep until I've checked the apartment, assured the safety of Zedd and Kaylee, and my heart stops racing. I'm skipping improv tonight. Maybe in a couple of months I'll be up to it, but after being forced to spend so much time with Anthony during 'Dracula,' I just can't. He's given up D&D and Turtles for the next couple of months, and its not fair to ask him to give up improv too. I'm looking forward to having a bit of company tonight though. I'm thinking "Dirty Dancing" and "Step Up." Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Stuff, TV

Oh! My Points! This was a weekend of food. Delicious food all, just too much of it! Friday night began with an attempt to call Sabine on her birthday. Anthony and I really should have asked John how to say "Is Sabine there?" in German, in case her dad answered, which, of course he did. :-P Unfortunately she wasn't home, but we tried! ^_^ We then headed over the S & A's for a tasty, tasty dinner. Our contribution was a bagette, pitas, hummus, cheese ball, gouda and some wine. The dinner was, as usually super good as was the dessert provided by Suzy. Yum! We also watched the Coppola version of "Dracula." I'm feeling much more confident about my portrayl of Lucy thus far. I could come out and do a dance and still be better than anyone in the film version (with perhaps the exception of Gary Oldman, who is fantastic in it). :-P Saturday was a long day of me not feeling well. I have good days and bad days and Saturday was definitely one of the bad. I ended up missing both improv and the Clone High Marathon at Nicole's place. I spent the day reading (and finishing book 4 of the 'Song of Fire and Ice' series loaned to me by Sabine-it's awesome!), gaming, doing a bit of writing and sketching. Sunday I felt much better, and went for breakfast at Cora's with Anthony and John. I do love Cora's. :-d Afterwards, we walked over north to get the car from Nicole's, and then headed east. Anthony figured he was going to have to pick up his sister, but it turned out that she'd got a lift from another friend and didn't need him afterall. We turned it into a plus by stopping at Starbucks. ^_^ I am *so* glad there is not one uptown - I'd be more broke than I am already! Frappacinos are super good but expensive! We headed over to Holly and Ryan's about 6:45 for Ryan's surprise b-day party. It was a good time, but about 11:45, Anthony was ready to go home. I told him I was tired and was going to walk home. He, of course, wouldn't let me walk alone, and we headed out. I saved Holly a messy clean up, I'm sure. :-P Monday started quietly. Anthony slept in and I did some laundry and few houseworky things. Around 2-ish, we walked over to pick up the car. We went for a coffee with John and then it was off to S & A's for Thanksgiving dinner. As is everything cooked by Scott, it was delicious and I ate way too much. ^_^ We hung out after dinner, and I played each of the guys a game of NHL '08. I am currently undefeated. :-P Yesterday, because I'd booked it as a vacation day, and because I can't because I can't be exposed to any germ without catching it, I woke up with a sore throat. *sigh* I joined Anthony in the Market for lunch, got to chat with Dre and Jay M a bit, John lunched with us, and Chris also showed up unexpectedly. Oh, I wish I worked uptown... The remainder of the afternoon was pretty quiet. I went to vote, and then headed home to chill out. I was able to get into the After Hours Clinic at 5:30, and it turns out I've a throat infection. I was prescribed penicillin, and advised to drink lots of fluids (which is easier said than done when you're throat is sore and swollen). By the time my prescription was filled and we got home, it was time to head to rehearsal. And that was my weekend. ^_^ Thanks again S & A. Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Movies

Why Isn't Friday Yet?!Is it just me or has this been the longest week ever?! I was ready for it to be Friday two days ago. *sigh* I had a good run home last night after work. I'd been feeling sluggish all day so the excercise and fresh air were just what I needed. I stepped up my pace, and finished with my best 5k time to date: 33:47 and a pace of 6:43/km. I can't beat Scott yet, but I'm getting there! ^_^ I just missed Anthony; he had rehearsal last night. I spent some time after supper watching the teaser videos Blaine posted on Facebook from the Cabaret DVD. I can't wait to see it! I uploaded my run info, read a bit, and generally just relaxed. I thought briefly of running my lines, but decided against it. :-P I'm pretty much off book anyway, and we don't have to be totally off until the 14th, so I'm doing well. I needed the break! WaterloggedI got drenched this morning just crossing the street in front of our apartment. Boo-urns! I'm mostly dry again, but I've had to take of my sneakers to dry them (and my feet) out, and the bottom of my jeans are still damp. I went for a run when I got home. 6k in 41 minutes. My average pace was 6:48, which I feel pretty good about. ^_^ I dropped into Mom's new place after my run, and spent two hours chatting with her about this and that. By the time I got home, it was 9 pm, and I was starving! So I heated up some supper, chowed down and then watched "DoA" on loan from Scott M. It's awesome! So bad, and yet so good. ^_^ It's totally silly, but the fight choreography is pretty decent - it's just a lot of fun. And man, is Jaime Pressly ever buff! I wish I had the discipline to get abs like that! Labels: Daily Life, Health, Movies

1 Down! Thanks to everyone who made it down to "A Khord" for the show last night! It went very well, and folks seemed to enjoy it. It's a good space. There's lots of room for the audience and its great to have a stage, lighting, etc. I think it would be a cool spot for some fringe theatre too. I hope it does well - it would be worth approaching them to participate in TotE next year as a venue. The guys went to U-zone after the show. I went home and curled up with my book. I was pretty tired though, and ended up in bed early. I'm feeling a little worn around the edges today, but hopefully that will pass. I'm back at it today to continue my training for the "Legs for Literacy" run in November. I've got 6k to run, so I've just brought my stuff to work to run home. I'm hoping to beat my MbtS time. ^_^ Labels: Health, Theatre

Happy Birthday Jenn!!I hope you have a wonderful birthday, and I look forward to celebrating with you this weekend. ^_^ In Your Face 10k!Friday night was spent pretty quietly. Anthony worked late, and around 8:30-ish, Doug called to see if I felt like going for a drink with him and Colleen at Churchills. I headed down there, and enjoyed a couple of cold beer. Anthony came down about 9:30 with John, and we stayed until about 11:30 before heading home. Saturday I was up early-ish for improv practice at 11. It was a good practice, and then it was over to the Market for lunch. I got the Curry Chicken Rice from Slocum and Ferris, but it wasn't the best ever. It was actually kind of dry, and they didn't put the sauce on it. I ended up only eating about half. Very disappointing. It was a long rehearsal. Productive, but long. We finished at 5:10, just enough time to run home, change and then head back out to the Alehouse for Jay's birthday dinner. I had the Kilkenny pasta, which I think may have had something bad in it. I ended up feeling sick to my stomach (as did Mare who had the same thing) and we both headed home early. Sunday I was up bright and early (Okay, it was foggy and dark, but it was early!) for the Marathon by the Sea. I got down there at about 7:50 and the race started at 8. Mare and I ran together the whole race, which was great. The time flew by, and we were able to keep each other motivated. My personal goal was 1:15 for my first race, and I finished at 1:11:29. Yay me! I'm totally pumped to train for a half now. ^_^ We hung around to see everyone else finish, and after Keith crossed, I ran home to change and then went to Tim's with Mare, Scott and Roger (Karen and Jack met us there) for a breakfast sandwich. I headed back down to the finish line to await Anthony's triumphant arrival. He finished the full at 4:53. Woot! ^_^ Chris, Anthony and I had a coffee in Market Square, Doug and Colleen joined us for a bit, but finally it was time to get an increasingly tired Anthony home for a nap. We ended up going to see "Resident Evil: Extinction." The zombies reminded me a lot of Buffy-verse zombies, and there really wasn't that many. I was nightmare free, which was nice. My legs are feeling tight today, and my gluts are a bit sore, but otherwise, I'm feeling good. I went to bed early last night, and Anthony gave me a lift to work, so I got to sleep in a bit. I've got lots to do today, but hopefully I won't be too tired for rehearsal tonight. Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Movies, Theatre

I Vant to - Aw, forget it.It was a very busy weekend, so busy in fact that I can't remember what I did Friday night. :-P We had lots of Dracula rehearsing. We blocked the entire show - Act 1 on Saturday and Act 2 on Sunday. Bob's a machine! ^_^ Saturday after rehearsal we went with Scott out to the mall and helped him pick out a movie. We went home, had supper, and then headed out to S & A's to watch The Manchurian Canidate (the remake with Denzel). It was quite good. We also watched a bit of the original Batman movie - that movie has not aged well! :-P Sunday was a busy day. We got up and went to breakfast with Doug and Colleen at Cora's. Anthony wanted to show off the new NHL '08 for the X-Box 360 so they went into U-Zone to play a quick game. After the (very close) game, it was over to the Superstore for groceries. That gave us just enough time to head to the Nature Park for a quick run before rehearsal at 6. I decided to do the entire outer trail, which Anthony told me was 7 km. I think it's more like 7.5. After a few wrong turns etc. my total run ended up being a little over 8 km. Oy! I kept a good time though; I love running in the Nature Park. My legs were a little rubbery for rehearsal though. :-P Monday and Tuesday I was sick. Very sick. With some sort of flu bug. Why do I catch everything? :-( Yesterday I was back to work, but after missing two days, I was way to busy to update. 106 emails, 28 voicemail messages and a whole slew of to-do's. Last night's rehearsal was a ton of fun though. I got to practice my horror movie scream, get chased around and bitten. Good times. ^_^ On the SideIf you haven't written to, well, every political official in the province regarding this post-secondary report, I strongly urge you to do so. The government is here to serve us, and we've got to let them know that collapsing UNBSJ is not serving us, but themselves. Labels: Daily Life, Health, Movies, Stuff, Theatre

Almost ThereThis has been a long week already. Work has been busy; I've only been here two hours and I'm already ready to go home. I did a fast run home last night, ate supper quickly, and then it was off to rehearsal. We did the text work for Act 1, and Bob was a man on a mission. We made it through all but that last couple of pages before it was time to break for the night. I went down to Akhord with the guys afterwards to check out the space. They've done a good job; it looks nice. I hope they do some heavy advertising though; it was empty. In fact, if it wasn't for Scott, I wouldn't have known it was even open! We also popped into Churchills to wish John well on his birthday. I haven't decided if I'll take part in the improv tonight; Nicole couldn't get the night off and there should be a woman taking part. We'll see... I didn't sleep well, and could really use a nap... Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Theatre

Tuesday BlahsI know I've said it before, and I'll surely say it again, but Tuesdays are the worst day of the week! Especially when it's rainy and gloomy. Boo! Yesterday felt like a Monday. It was busy at work, but not that good busy that makes the day fly by. At the end of the day, I went into the ladies room to change into my running gear only to discover I'd left my shirt at home. I rushed back to my desk to gather my things so I could catch the bus. On the up side, however, when I got home, Anthony was in his running clothes, so he waited for me to change, and we did a 6 km run together. ^_^ The run went well. It had been over a week since my last run, and I was concerned that I would have a hard time. I actually found myself being surprised at the end of each interval, so I think my next run I'll add a minute. I'm a little worried about the upcoming 10 km race though. I haven't been able to stick to my running schedule very closely, and I'm supposed to be up to a 9 km run this Saturday, which I don't think is going to happen. I had wanted to complete the 10 km in under an hour, but I think at this rate, I'll have to content myself with just finishing. At my current pace etc. I should be able to finish 1 hour / 1 hour 15, but we'll see. I'm going to try to run as often as possible between now and then. The rest of the evening was spent quietly, and I ended up watching 'Disturbia' before going to bed. Movie of the year? No, but I enjoyed it. Some of the romance stuff seemed forced, but other than that... I'm really pumped for the first reading of "Dracula" tonight. It will be cool to see who else has been cast; I only know who is cast in a couple of roles for certain. I almost always really enjoy a first read (unless it takes all night - that's less fun). It's cool to see how people first preceive their characters, and then we get to watch them evolve as we go. Labels: Daily Life, Health, Movies, Theatre

Movin' AlongFirst, thanks Kizzy for the lunch date! It was fun, and we'll have to do it again soon! Yesterday wasn't the best day ever. I ended up coming in late and leaving early. The evening was spent in bed with "Game of Thrones" (which is excellent so far) and my cats. Anthony ended up spending the evening at UZone with Al and John, which was for the best considering what poor company I would have been. :-P Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health

Taking A BreakAh back to school. It's been crazy busy here at work. Blech! :-P Let's see, Monday I ran home from work. I was supposed to do 6 km, but I was apparently spaced out, because I forgot my wrap at home. I took it easy, but at about 3.5 km, I stepped hard, and felt a twinge in my ankle, so I slowed my pace and cut it short, ending at 5.41 km. *sigh* I had a bite to eat, pulled out my Buffy books, and watching some Angel as research while I waited for Chris to come over. He'd already created a great backstory that fit right in with my version of the Buffyverse, so we got his qualities, drawbacks, skills, attributes and maneuvers figured out, and now he's ready to play. ^_^ Anthony got home from his run as we were finishing up, and he spent a few minutes showing both Chris and John some of "Bioshock." It's a cool game. At least, it looks cool. ^_^ I'm enjoying watching him play it (I can't play first person shooters for two reasons 1: I've never been able to master the console shooter controls and end up enraged when I can't kill anything and 2: things that jump out at me make me freak out and button mash). :-P Last night Anthony picked me up (from Jay - whoa hoa! :-P) to reveal he'd bought me sushi for supper. Yummy california rolls. :-d Sushi being quick and easy, I was able to get changed and gather up my TMNT stuff for 6:30. Anthony was all eager to get going because Al was rolling his character. Because we got there so early, we had time to chat with Sabine, who has already got a great mark on her thesis, but was proud to say that with a little more work, she'll get the Austrian equivalent of an A on it. Yay Sabine! ^_^ Our TMNT adventure was all kinds of wacky, as usual. I got to play as my character's sensai since Zora is still out cold. There was a moment of panic when I thought he was going to drown because a mutant whale got in our way. :-P Then it was home to get a few things done at the house and to bed. Back to WorkFriday after work we had dinner to celebrate Lisa and Alison's birthdays at "Boilerworks." I have to say I was impressed by the restaurant, everything tasted delicious! I will certainly go back. Afterwards we headed over to Chris and Suzy's to hang out a bit. We didn't stay too late; I was pretty tired (and having a full belly made me want to sleep ^_^). Saturday we were up early for improv at 11. After lunch, Anthony went to Uzone with Doug and John to play hockey. I went for a run, and chilled for a bit before we headed over to Jay and Lisa's for dinner. Thanks again for the tasty meal J & L! Again, the full belly made me sleepy and we didn't stay too late. Sunday we slept in, ran a few errands in the afternoon, and of course, The Aramando / The MP3 Experiment took place Sunday evening. The improv went well; it came together nicely. Michelle Hooton, our 'celebrity' guest, did a great job with her monologues. The MP3 Experiment was a blast! For those of you who didn't take part, you really missed out. And I don't care if it's 'not your thing.' I know you would have had fun (and besides, how do you know without trying it?). Two highlights for me included seeing people walk by outside to see us dancing to 'nothing' and running around the block with Santa (aka: Gilbert), handing out candy to strangers, waving and singing 'Downtown.' It was awesome! After the show, we ended up at our place for a few drinks. The company was great, but come 3 am, when everyone left, I was beat. I didn't envy Anthony who had to get up for tennis with Gilbert, John and Scott T. at 10 am. ^_^ When Anthony got home from tennis, I got up. Yes, I slept in and it was glorious! Anthony went for a run, and I spent some time people watching at the NB day flea market (what a weird, and increasingly lame, tradition) before our reading at 2:30. The reading went really well; I'm so looking forward to sharing "The Goat" tonight. We ended up chatting afterwards, and the time just flew. Before we knew it, it was 6:45 and Alex had to rush off to his 'Bash' rehearsal. Then it was suddenly 7:40, we were starving and John was calling looking for Sabine. ^_^ We ended up renting a Korean movie called 'The Host,' which was interesting, and getting Chinese food from the Hong Kong Take Out. Yum! Yesterday we were up early-ish, and on the road at 11:30. We picked up Sabine and headed out to St. Martin's. We visited the caves, to which neither Sabine or I had been in before, had 'world famous' seafood chowder at the restaurant on the beach with Anthony's mom, and headed to The Fundy Trail, again something neither Sabine and I had visited. We spent 3 hours walking and exploring the trails. We saw squirrels and flying caterpillars , picked raspberries on a beach, saw Fuller Falls and other wonderful scenery. We stopped for ice cream at the canteen on the way back (Sabine had fries instead) and headed back into town. We got back about 6:30, just in time to eat before heading to the museum to set up the camcorder to film "Out on the Edge." The show was great; I hope everyone gets a chance to check it out. Taking a Break From the Work DramaI don't know if it's the heat, the recent full moon or what, but my gods, people are being major drama queens today! I totally need a moment to save my sanity! Friday night we gathered at Studio 10 to see The Simpsons Movie. It was better than I was expecting, and I was pretty pumped for it. ^_^ My only disappointment was that I couldn't sit next to John to see his expression of childlike delight. ^_^ After the movie, we went to Boston Pizza for a beer, and to chat about it before heading home. Saturday we were up early. I had to weigh in and then we had improv at 11. Improv was interesting, made all the more so by the drunk who harassed us. Afterwards, I stopped for dolma in the market, and we headed home. I read and gamed for most of the afternoon. We ended up having a few folks over and went to karaoke with Mo, Kathleen and Mary Ellen at a pool hall on the west side. He had a good selection, but the host was new to karaoke and didn't know some of the cardinal karaoke rules (like don't let one person sing 15 times when there are people who haven't sung yet). Sunday we slept in a bit after the late night. Keith had crashed at our place, and we gave him a lift home so he could get ready for a Simpsons date with John. Since we were out and about, we headed east and I rented "Viva Pinata" for the 360. We ended up going to see "Hairspray," which was a fun film. Anthony had to work on the program, so I spent the evening gaming and reading. Nice and relaxing. It's too bad D & D ended up cancelled since it will be a few weeks before we can have a session. Yesterday was a crazy day at work. There was just the two of us and it was busy! I ran home (finishing at a personal best ^_^) and met Anthony for a coffee since he had to work late. It actually was a really good run. Probably one of the best ever. It just felt good from beginning to end. The night was pretty mellow since Anthony was working late. I ended up just watching Angel. It's research. Really. Labels: Daily Life, Gaming, Health, Movies, Theatre, TV

Work on Hot Summer Days Could be Called Cruel and Unusual PunishmentLet's see, what's been what since my last post? Umm... Tuesday I ran home from work. It turns out that from work to my front door is just shy of 4.5 km, at least, on the route that I take. It was a good run, it took me about 35 minutes running at a 7:32 pace. My new sneakers are awesome! I ate supper quickly and then it was off to TMNT. Zora's heart didn't explode, but I can't heal. Considering she's now unconcious and in the minus hit points thanks to a plane crash, that really sucks. Hopefully I'll be able to get help in the next episode. Last night was improv practice. It was a good one. We did part of an Armando, which was challenging. It's very similar to The Harold, and we're a little rusty. I've no doubt that a couple more practices should get us back up to where we need to be though. Maybe I'll watch our three Harolds from February to brush up. ^_^ Tonight I've got a run to do. I'm hoping it will cool off considerably by the time I get off work. It's a tad hot today. :-P Labels: Daily Life, Gaming, Health, Theatre

Runaway WeekendWow! What a busy weekend! First, let me say Congratulations! to Chris and Suzy, and Christine and Andrew on your nuptials. Friday, I got off work early. Originally this was the plan because the rehearsal for Christine's wedding was supposed to be at 5. I took a few hours to just relax, and then headed down to Ambiance for an Aveda Hand Treatment. I'd received it as a gift certificate for Christmas from Holly, and it seemed like a good time to use it. It was awesome! It includes a manicure, but also a hand and forearm massage, a hand mask, and heat mitts. I could have fallen asleep. It turned out that after the massage I had some time to kill. Anthony and I ran a few errands out at the mall, and he dropped me off at the church at 7 pm for the rehearsal. Rehearsal took about an hour, and then we headed back in town for dinner. Anthony and I bailed a little early and we hit the movie theatre to check out Harry Potter and The Order of the Pheonix, which I found quite enjoyable. Saturday I was up bright and early. I had a hair appointment for 10 am. I had asked for it to be a half up, half down do, but Doug got a bit excited, and it ended up as an up do. :-P It looked great though. Of course, it meant make up was required to cover up my tattoo... Oh well. I got home about 11, sent Anthony down to Coles to pick up Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and did my make up. I arrived at Christine's at 12:15 just in time for photos. We made our way to the church for 1:30. Christine was super nervous, but looked beautiful. The ceremony was really nice, for the most part. Unfortunately, the air conditioning got turned off accidently, and it got really hot. About 2/3 of the way through the ceremony, the best man fainted from the heat. And he hit his head. We had to call an ambulance. It turned out that he was fine, just embarrassed. Once he got the okay from the paramedics, the rest of the day went great. Of course, everything was about a half hour behind. By the time we got back to have dinner, it was 5:30 and I was starving! At 7, while the bride and groom were mingling with guest, Anthony and I split to put in an appearance at Chris and Suzy's shindig. We had perfect timing and arrived just in time for cheesecake. Yum! ^_^ We also received one of the warmest greetings ever. Thanks for missing us everyone! ^_^ We hung out there until about 8:30 before making our way to the dance. It wasn't a rocking dance, except for those two women who seem to be at every event like this and dance the macarena to every song while wooping. *shakes head* We bailed after Christine and Andrew left at 11; I was beat! It took an hour to get the 35 pins out of my hair and to brush it out. I then settled in to read a few chapters of Harry Potter before going to sleep. Sunday we slept in a bit, and I spent a few hours curled in bed reading. I eventually felt a bit guilty and called Dre to see if she was up for breakfast/lunch at Cora's. We had lunch, stopped at United (and each bought two sets of dice. I know the geekiness never ends. :-P), and hung out in the Loyalist Burial Ground until it was time to head out to Lisa and Jay's for D & D. We had a great game with some fun surprises, and managed to get Act 1 wrapped up. I'm looking forward to Act 2! ^_^ When we got home, I proceeded to devour Harry Potter until 3 in the morning. I'd planned to only read for an hour but I'd hit the point of no return and could not bring myself to put it down. It's awesome! I even went back and read the last three chapters again because they were so good. By the time I turned out my light, it was about 3:30. :-P Needless to say, I slept in yesterday. I met Anthony for lunch, which was a nice treat, bought a chilly chino from Java Moose, and spent the afternoon watching Angel and playing Puzzle Quest. I went to the track with Dre to calibrate my iPod and we got in a 3 km run, which was nice after a week of inactivity. Labels: Books, Daily Life, Friends, Health, Movies

Still SoreI ended up going home at 3:00 last night as my voice slowly degenerated into a painful squeak again. *sigh* I got home about 3:30 and napped for a few hours. I ate supper, watched a couple of movies, and went to bed again. It seems the key to not losing my voice is to not use it (and a lot of ice cream helps :-P). A little tough considering I work in a call centre, but I'm avoiding talking to anyone when I'm not on the phone. I'm really hoping I'll feel better by tomorrow since Christine's rehearsal dinner is tomorrow night, and of course, the wedding is Saturday. I'd rather not spend the whole day squeaking like a sickly mouse. Labels: Daily Life, Health

Stupid Immune System...It was a busy weekend. Friday I got groceries immediately after work, partly because we were out of food and because we were invited to Brett and Lorianne's to BBQ. The BBQ was big fun, and involved lots of fun, food and good company. I bailed around 12:30 as we had a big day Saturday. Saturday I woke up with a migraine, so I skipped on improv and slept until about 12:30. I got up, ate quickly and then headed out for my run, which was brutal. I was supposed to do 5.5 km, and ended up doing about 4 thanks to a wicked crick in my side that I just couldn't breathe through. After the run, I ran around town getting a few things for the bachelorette party. I got home around 2:30, showered and then spent some time getting the apartment presentable. The party itself was a lot of fun. We played some silly games, Suzy got some great gifts and was a good sport about the wacky stuff we made her do. ^_^ Sunday I slept in, of course. I headed down to the Running Room about 12:30 to get a pair of sneakers and I also was able to get the Nike iPod kit as well as a shoe attachment since my sneakers are not Nike. ^_^ I can't wait to try them out! The afternoon was spent quietly until it was time to head to Jay and Lisa's for an action packed D & D adventure. I may have to leave my comrades to their fate if things get much worse though! :-P Unfortunately, around 8 pm, my throat started feeling a bit sore. By the time we went home, it was really sore and my glands were starting to swell up. I woke up Monday morning with a burning throat, no voice and a fever. Needless to say the last couple of days have not been fun. Stupid immune system not doing it's job. :-( I'm at work today, but I'm forcing my voice. I should be home but just couldn't take another day. I may end up having to go home though; I'm not feeling great... Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Gaming, Health

Another WednesdayI wish it was Friday... My run home last night felt particularly challenging. I really had to push myself to get through the last kilometer. I think I may have been just too tired... I grabbed my stuff and Anthony and I headed out for TMNT. It was a good session, although I think Zora may end up killed or severely injured. :-( I hope not: I really like the character and don't want her to die! We went to Tims with Scott and John afterwards for a coffee, or in my case, a tea. Then it was home to bed. I crashed hard and actually slept through my alarm clock the first two times it went off. :-P I ended up rushing around this morning, which I hate doing. I feel all off now. *sigh* Maybe the day will go by quickly... Labels: Daily Life, Gaming, Health

Feeling Like ZoraLike a hamster running in circles on a wheel and not getting anywhere. We've got one person out on vacation this week and another has been out sick the past two days. When we've only got four people doing the job, I'm sure you can guess how busy we've been. Near the end of the day yesterday, I emailed Dre to see if she would be up for hitting the gym with me. I was feeling a major lack of motivation, and had she said no, I probably would have made excuses and not gone. With my running schedule, it's pretty tempting to just forget the gym, but I don't want to do that. Jay kindly took me home after work (Thanks Jay!) and I had a quick bite to eat before swinging by Dre's to get her. We had a great workout, and it was nice to get some quality hang out time. I've missed my workout buddy! (Welcome back Dre! ^_^) When I got home, I read a bit, and waited for Anthony to get home. When 9 pm rolled around, I started to worry a bit. He'd left at 5:50 to go for a run, and had indicated it would be about 2.5 hours. By 10, I'd tried his cell (it was off) and was starting to worry a lot. When he finally got home at 10:30, I was pretty relieved. He'd opted to run with Keith, and by the time he drove north, they went to drop off a car at S and A's, drove back north, run back out to S & A's, and chatted a bit, it was late. Silly to have worried so much about it, but you never know... So tonight I've got a run scheduled. It's supposed to be 5 km, but with TMNT tonight, I'm going to run home. I'm not entirely sure what the distance is. Mapquest indicates that it's just shy of 5 km, but it's hard to be certain. I really need to find the money for the Nike iPod kit. A Hair Pullin' Good TimeI'm going crazy. I've got about 25 bugs bites on each leg and tops of my feet. They are *so* itchy. :-( Friday night Anthony, John, Sabine and I went to check out "As You Like It" on the Rothesday Commons. The weather held out; it was a bit foggy and cool, but nothing a sweather and blanket couldn't take care of. It was really entertaining, cute and quirky. The cast seemed to be having a lot of fun and their enthusiasm was infectious. My only critique would be there was a lot of upstaging going on and I often found my attention drawn to the background characters, not those moving the plot forward and I missed some of what was going on. A minor flaw in an otherwise stellar show. Saturday Anthony and I *should* have got up early to go for a run. However, we were cozy and by the time we got up, it was late. We started to get ready for the run, but Doug called and sounded in need of company, so we went with him to the Big Stop for pancakes instead. By the time we finished, we didn't have enough time, and we headed out to Yessy's for my team BBQ with my co-workers. It was a good time, despite a 'Fear Factor' style challenge that had me shooting cold clam chowder, eating a chunk of mystery meat which turned out to be dog food, and a live slug, at which point I gave up and settled for 2nd place. We left about midnight, and I went home to bed. Anthony went with Jay out to the "As You Like It" cast party (Anthony didn't want to miss writing on the wall). Yesterday, I woke up early but I dozed off and on, and read for a bit before finally getting up to go for my run. I did aproximately 5.5 km (I really need to invest in the Nike iPod running kit) in 44 minutes. I ran down Duke Street, up Water, around Lower Cove Loop to Union, down around the Red Rose Tea building, looped around the parking lot, back down Harbor Passage along the boardwalk, and up Duke to home. It was a tough run, but with the exception of some sore gluts today, it felt really good. I popped a lasagna in the oven, showered, ate and headed to the Millers' for D & D. It had a slow start, but once we got into the action, it was pretty exciting, and ended on quite the cliff hanger. I got to use some fun spells, including one where I was able to talk to plants. :-P Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Gaming, Health, Theatre

Zora - Action HamsterI ran home after work last night as I had a 30 min run scheduled. The last time I ran home, it took me 34 minutes to get to the lighthouse at the Hilton. Last night, by the time my 30 minutes were up, I'd made down Water Street and up Duke to Prince William. Yay me! :-P I devoured some leftovers, tasty sweet and sour chicken and a colorful salad with strawberries, cherry tomatoes, raisons, oranges and red wine mist dressing, changed, gathered my stuff and headed down to John and Sabine's for TMNT. I've been watching too many action movies lately, so I jumped on a motorcycle, raced under the monster, threw grenades at the Armadillos, leaped off my bike and crashed it into the bad guy controlling the giant lizard. Aw yeah! ^_^ Of course, I was terrified every time I rolled that I was going to fail miserably and end up dead. But, luck was with me. The guys managed to keep the big guy off my back, swarmed the guys behind me with their 400 prairie dogs and I was able to slice and dice the bad guy. We broke early because the monster was dead. Anthony went with Keith to see Transformers since it was the only chance Keith had to go. I watched the last two episodes of "How I Met Your Mother" (season 2). I wish I didn't have to wait for season 3! I gamed a bit, read some, and went to bed. Labels: Daily Life, Food, Friends, Gaming, Health

I Wish I Had One More Day Off...Long weekends are never long enough. :-P Even when you've taken an extra day to make it even longer. *sigh* :-P Friday I gloried in some sleeping in. Anthony and I went for lunch at the Market before heading over to the Nature Park for a run. He needed to do 8 km, and I needed to do 5 km. It was my first run in the Nature Park, and it was great! Running on the paths is so much easier on the legs, and it's just a nice change of scenery. I'm looking forward to more runs there in the future. We were supposed to go over for groceries, but after showering Anthony felt like a nap. We went east to run some errands, and to get groceries, but the errands took longer than expected and we ended up just having enough time to grab something to BBQ. Doug had invited us over to enjoy their deck, so we fired up the grill, drank some beer, and ended up staying to watch "Shooter." (I found it kind of dragged out and predictable.) Saturday we were up early. I stopped in to weigh in, and then we headed out of town to Moncton to meet up with Sandra and David. The weather was calling for partly cloudy, so we figured our Bouctouche plans would still be good. As we drove into Bouctouche, it was pouring out, so we stopped into Pizza Delight (apparently Bouctouche doesn't have a bar...) for a beer to wait out the storm. Once it stopped, the sun was shining and it was mostly warm, so we headed to the Dunes. We had a picnic lunch and managed to enjoy the brief moments of sun. We even watched a thunder storm moving across the water to PEI, which was cool. In the end, however, the weather was just too unpredictable, and too cold for sunbathing (especially without sun). We drove into Shediac to have supper. I had a tasty lobster wrap, and side salad. We headed back into Moncton, chatted with Sandra and David a bit before heading back to Saint John. We got back into town a little after 10, just in time to catch the grocery store for some snacks and salad stuff. We ended up watching "Stomp the Yard" when we got home. The story was a little cliched but I enjoyed it. The stomp routines were quite interesting... Sunday we were up at a fairly decent time. Anthony left around 12:30 to do his 20 km run as called for by his training schedule. I enjoyed some How I Met Your Mother while waiting for him to return. We headed out to Kizzy's around 3:30. Thanks again Kizzy for the hospitality and a great party. It was a blast! Yesterday I got up and did a 3 km run as part of my training. The afternoon was spent quietly. I watched How I Met Your Mother, Anthony had a coffee with John, and then we headed out to Jay and Lisa's for some D & D. It wasn't action packed but some of the role playing was interesting. We managed to get to the King's birthday, but the party was just starting when we left. ^_^ So, tonight we are hitting the movie theatre for The Transformers. I'm super pumped. We're going to the late show (I'm not sure which one yet - Anthony was going to get tickets this afternoon). It's gonna be awesome! ^_^ Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Gaming, Health, Movies, TV

YawnToday definiately feels like a Monday. If only I was outside in the sun and not stuck in here. Let's see... After work on Friday I went for a 40 min run. I did 2 and 1's as it was my longest run to date and didn't want to push it. I ran just shy of 5 km, and I felt pretty good afterwards. Anthony was out with Dan, so I curled up on the couch and watched LotR: The Fellowship of the Ring, and some of the behind the scenes stuff before heading to bed. Saturday I planned on getting up early, but ended up sleeping in. Anthony and I went for lunch at the market (I'm so glad the Korean ladies opened up a stall-I thought perhaps they'd left for good!) and I had the spicy BBQ pork and rice noodles. I ended up with a bunch of leftovers. Yum! I popped into Lawtons and then made my way back home to relax. We headed to Scott and Alison's about 6:30, just in time for the super tasty brisket. Mmmm... :-d As always, thank you S & A; you two are the bestest! Full of beef and sides, we ended up just hanging out there, chatting, we played a few rounds of Pit, watched a couple Futurama and headed home. Yesterday was a busy day. I got up and went for a 4 km run. It was a tough run. I got a crick in my side at the 1 km mark and couldn't shake it. It made for a less than pleasant running experience, and ended up taking longer than I would have liked. I wasn't able to go to the gym as planned, but rushed home to shower and eat (my leftovers :-d) before heading east. Christine's wedding shower was at 2, but I had to stop at the mall to get a few things. It was pretty good as far as showers go... I've never really understood the whole shower thing... The shower finished at 4. I gamed for a bit afterwards while Anthony went for a run. He got back a little after 6, just enough to eat quick and shower before we headed to Jay and Lisa's for D & D. It was a slow start - mostly because I was very unsure as to what was going on. Everyone was very patient with me though. I think I know what's what now however. ^_^ It was a little after 11 when we got home. I gamed a bit and then went to bed. I actually didn't sleep well. I had this recurring nightmare all night. I was trapped in some horrible house, and I managed to escape. Anthony followed me out, and chased me down the driveway, asking what I was doing. We turned left at the bottom of the drive, and I told him I'd had it and wasn't going to just wait around to die. We heard sounds, and hid behind a bush. Two male figures walked by, and somehow realized we were there. They charged towards us, and when they drew close, they were hideously deformed. I tried to scream but couldn't make more than a croak. I awoke with my heart pounding. I probably had the same dream 4 times last night. When my alarm went off, I was exhausted. :-( That finished at 4 pm Labels: Daily Life, Dreams, Food, Friends, Gaming, Health

Tuesday BlahsI know I've said it before and I've no doubt I will say it again, but I hate Tuesdays. Okay, hate is a strong word, but I certainly don't like them. I woke up this morning wanting to just stay in bed, and once I got to work, pretty much anywhere would have been better than here. *sigh* Last night I hit the gym for a 20 minute run on the treadmill and an upper body workout. Anthony ran me over to the movie theatre afterwards for my movie date with Michelle. We went to see Pirates of the Carribbean: At World's End. I liked it as much as I liked the second one, but it wasn't as enjoyable as the first. Tonight is our weekly TMNT meeting. I'm looking forward to an action packed adventure now that we're all in Mexico. ^_^ Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Gaming, Health, Movies

Waiting on WednesdayLet's see... Monday after work I went to the gym to switch my member ship from the couple rate as Anthony is cancelling his membership to the Xerox corporate rate, which is actually very reasonable. I then did 20 minutes on the treadmill doing 3 and 1's. Running on the treadmill seems easier; maybe its because its no problem to maintain pace. ^_^ I also did a good upper body workout, although I think it may be time to increase some of my weights. By the time I got home and had supper, it was almost 9. Yesterday was one of those days. I didn't really feel like working, which made for a long work day. :-P I got home around 6, had fish and some tasty asparagus and basil soup before Anthony and I headed over to John and Sabine's for TMNT. I didn't have a ton to do just the way things worked out. I had gone ahead and thanks to some horrible rolling, hijinks ensued for the others. It certainly was exciting though. At one point we were all on the edge of our seats watching as Anthony rolled literally for his last point of HP. Now, if only we can learn to get through the easy stuff without making it into a big production! :-P Labels: Daily Life, Food, Friends, Gaming, Health

It's The End of The World As We Know ItThree nice weekends in a row. There must be an apocolypse coming! :-P Friday after work I had my rubber arm twisted and ended up just joining Doug, Colleen, Mike D and Anthony at Cougars. I didn't have anything to drink, but I enjoyed the company. Afterwards, we headed out to Scott and Alison's for a bonfire with John and Sabine. We ended up leaving about 11 since we had a early morning planned. Saturday we were up at 8 pm. I went for a run, and then hit the gym for a quick upper body work out before we picked up Dre and Sabine for our tubing adventure. By the time we stopped at Walmart, went back for the forgotten tubes and went to the liquor store for beer, it was almost 12. By the time we got our tubes inflated and hit the river, it was about 1-ish. We floated down river for about an hour to the swimming hole, swam a bit and then walked back to the cars for a fabulous picnic lunch provided by Scott and Alison (you two roxxor! ^_^). Full and happy, we opted to do a second run. After another stop for some swimming at the swimming hole, we headed back to the cars. It was 6 by the time we got home, which was just enough time to shower and change to head out for our Girls Night. Yesterday was a mostly lazy day. I woke up late (with a bit of a headache - it turns out a whole bottle of wine and no supper equals hangover :-P) and headed out to our Second Stage meeting. That was about 2 hours, and then Dre and I checked out United Bookstore so she could drop off book (and we could look at dice). I wasn't home very long when Anthony got home, and we spent some time doing some cleaning. Anthony made pasta for supper and John and Sabine came over around 6 or so to do some board gaming. We played Pictionary (Anthony and I won) and Simpson's Clue (John won). We chatted for a bit after the games before they went home. Anthony and I spent the remainder of the evening curled up reading. Oh Ye Gods, How You Tease Me With Your Summer-y Glory on a Work DayWhat a beautiful Friday it is! Such a nice treat at the end of a gloomy and generally miserable work week. Sure, it's not nice coming inside to work when it is so lovely out, but it promises to me nice into the evening and all weekend. After work yesterday I went for a run. I did 27 minutes again. Boy, those last two sets are tough! But, my first couple I had to watch closely because I was drifting over the 2 minute mark. ^_^ Maybe that's why the last couple were so hard! After my run, Anthony and I had some tasty soy burgers and headed out to the mall so I could run a few errands. We got home about 9. Keith and John came over so they could each take turns playing and watching Resident Evil 4 on the PS2. I went through the cd of Cabaret photos that I finally picked. Some are really good. We also look pretty scary in others. :-P Very drag queen chic. I read a bit, gamed a little and then went to bed. I think I may run again today instead of going to the gym. It is *so* nice out. I think I'll try to make it for an upper body work out before tubing tomorrow, so everything is all nice and firm for my bikini. ^_^ Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health

BetterLast night I was still feeling headachey, so I ended up going home and right to bed. I napped off and on through the evening, read a bit and the headache didn't develop into a full fledged migraine, thankfully. I'm still feeling a bit off today, but definitely better. I'm going to go for a run after work. I think the exercise will do me good at this point. Maybe I can even hit that 30 minute mark! ^_^ Labels: Daily Life, Health

Okay! After work, I rushed home to get ready for a run with Dre. I ended up making us late because I could not find anything! My morning started like that and it carried through the day. I couldn't find my shorts, then I couldn't find my super sturdy sports bra, then I couldn't find my hat, then - You get the picture. Zedd and Kaylee were probably under the impression I'd finally lost it as I stomped around the apartment cursing like a sailor. :-P We ran for 25 minutes along Harbour Passage. Again, the last two sets of running were brutal, but I got through the first 20 in pretty good shape. Dre said we had even picked up the pace a little. So I've got three runs down with only a nasty blister on my baby toe in the way of negative side effects. There's not much I can do about the blister because it hurts every time I take a step. I'll just suffer through it... I'll probably have to fork out $20 for fancy Running Room socks. I'm totally digging it so far though. ^_^ After our run, we each rushed home to our apartments. I did a good stretch, had an uber quick shower while heating supper up in the microwave and then, following the trend of the day, couldn't find my dice. I met Dre again and we walked down to John and Sabine's for our first TMNT adventure. ^_^ My character isn't overly bright, and she's very much like a valley girl, but so far fun to play. Then it was home to catch up on some facebook before bed. Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Gaming, Health

One of Those DaysYesterday was one of those days. There were ups and downs, but such is life. A misunderstanding was cleared up, much to my relief. It had been weighing on me, and turns out that I'm a bit of a dope. :-P After work, Anthony surprised me by picking me up. He dropped me off at the gym for my work out date with Dre. It was our first time working out together in months, so it was nice to get back to it. We didn't push ourselves too hard since it had been a long time between work outs for her, and it was my first time back since the 10th. We just did an upper body workout. It had been a tough day for her as well, so it was good to work out some of the frustrations etc. I got home to find Anthony had beat God of War, and we had a quick supper together. Afterwards, we went out east so he could trade the game in. On a whim, we decided to go see Shrek the Third. It was cute, if a little crammed full of plot and characters... Then it was home to bed. Break a leg tonight to ye Improv Corp folks doing the National Sycro gig! I think tonight I may try running... Labels: Daily Life, Friends, Health, Movies

Tuckered OutI haven't been sleeping well the last couple of nights. It's been bee tough getting up in the morning, let me tell you! Let's see, Sunday we had rehearsal at noon. We finished a little early, so I hit the gym for a much needed upper body workout. I was feeling all weak and kittenish. :-P Anthony met me afterwards for a coffee at Tim's (he needed a break from work), and then I headed home for supper. We opted last minute to go to see "Pathfinder." It was entertaining. I'll give it that much. It's amusing when you see a film where the writer and director obviously knew nothing about the subject matter. I think they may have heard of vikings, but never researched them, and I think they believe that the vikings came from Asia because it was so obviously filmed in BC with huge mountain ranges and redwood forests. :-P I scoff, but it was enjoyable. Tobaggan chase anyone? ~_^ Last night we didn't have rehearsal, which was a lovely treat. I got groceries after work. While I ate, I watched an episode of Buffy that I'd started the night before, and then gamed for about an hour and a half. I've got to do some leveling before I can move on to the next battle. I'm only a couple levels above the next boss, and considering my last big fight with a bunch of jellies nearly wiped me out... ^_^ I stopped gaming around 10, walked through the dance routines, and then hit the hay. Again, with the not sleeping well, I figured it was best to get in as much extra sleep as possible. I did sleep a little better, but I woke up with a headache and hit snooze a bunch of times. TGIF, I mean, TGITWhy are short weeks *so* long? Is it because we're anticipating the weekend that much more? Last night I powered through an upper body workout before rehearsal started at 7 pm. We worked on blocking, which didn't take too long. Stephen let us go before 9, which was good. I got home to find John and Anthony doing TMNT stuff. I hid out, putting some highlights in my hair (that didn't turn out how I was hoping, but my hair color is definitely less flat now), and watching some improv while I waited. And that was my night. Tonight we've got dance rehearsal. I'm not sure if I'll be up for heading anywhere afterwards, but I'll keep it in mind. Anyhoo, if I don't see folks, have a good weekend! You're No Cheese Monkey Box Pirate But I Like You FineThank you to everyone who came out to see An Evening With Harold and/or participated in the improv workshop. We had a slightly better house on Friday, and a good sized crowd on Saturday night. Personally, my best night was Saturday. I rocked that Harold! :-P You can check them out on Anthony's site for the nights you missed. (If you missed all of them, you suck!) After the show, we headed over to Scott and Alison's to celebrate. A bottle of red wine later... (I blame Anthony). It was a good time all in all. Thanks, as always, for having us over S & A! You two are the best ever! ~_^ Sunday was a very busy day. Michelle and I headed into town for dance rehearsal at noon. We learned the splashy group sequence of Wilkommen, which is awesome! We had some fun learning various lifts. Hilarity ensued. ^_^ We broke at 3:20 and ran over to the other rehearsal space for music rehearsal. We learned "Money," which is a cool song, but pretty difficult. The rest of the evening was spent quietly. I read the first two "Sin City" books, kindly loaned to me by Sabine, and watched some Buffy. I'll planned to FFXII, but it was too much effort. I needed some think-free activities. ^_^ Yesterday I woke up with a brutal migraine. I ended up plugging myself full of painkillers and sleeping the morning away. I was feeling much better by lunch and was able to go into work for the rest of the day. In the evening, we started learning our "Mein Herr" number. It's very cool, but physically strenous. My legs, abs and obliques are quite sore today. Tonight I'm getting some groceries after work and then heading to the late show of "300" with Emily. ^_^ Mmmm... Gerard... :-d Labels: Books, Daily Life, Health, Theatre
